February 2022
Dear Friends,
The time to take our business to another level has arrived! Your continued support has taken us this far, THANK YOU. We have begun negotiations to purchase the land we currently rent and we know that together, we can do it. Owning the land will greatly improve our capacity to provide a safer environment for our employees and customers. Ownership will qualify us for grant opportunities to build our greenhouse and giftshop.
Below is a pledge of commitment form for you to fill out, sign, and return to us. Any amount you are comfortable to donate annually for the next 5 years or any amount you can donate at this time will bring us closer to purchasing the land. Please send the commitment letter back to us before Saturday, March 19, 2022 or discard the letter and send a check for any amount you want to donate now. If you prefer to donate online, please click on this link https://www.empoweringgardensinc.org/donate.html to make your secured donation.
Since 2016 we have employed 15 people with disabilities and we have placed several employees in permanent community jobs. Our staff is constantly learning new skills, enjoying the dignity of a regular paycheck, and striving for independence. Our goal is to provide a permanent working space to our employees. Although we have operated from an open lot during 6 gardening seasons and have moved to 5 different indoor locations during the winter, we know that our mission has found a home in Forest Park. Won’t you please help us purchase the land to build a year-round garden center at 7730 Madison St., and take our business to another level?
Thank you in advance for your commitment to improve the lives of people with disabilities.
